She Left Me

It is hard to get a shot with all of us sitting still…

A few days ago the Lady Servant vanished. OK, she didn’t exactly vanish. The Man Servant and I dropped her off at the cruise port to go on a trip with her friend. She told me she would be back in a few days, so I have been keeping her side of the bed warm in the meantime.

Since she has been gone, I have been entertaining myself quite nicely. I have gotten Man Servant pretty darn used to giving me extra treats, and loads of extra time to run around the yard. (You see, I have convinced him that he should go outside and read more often. He reads, I chase lizards… it is a beautiful thing, especially since I am not much of a reader, myself.)

But alas, Man Servant needs to go to work, too, and he does not have a cozy couch for me to nap on in his office, so I go to hang out with my friends Harlen, Lola and Aleyka. They are super fun and keep me from being sloth-like. Instead of the lazing on the sofa, I get to run around the yard, jump on Harlen, tackle Aleyka (which is not much of a challenge, since she only weighs six pounds), and follow Lola around like a shadow.

We have so much fun all together, that sometimes it is hard to believe that I live in a one dog household. Don’t get me wrong, that has many, many advantages, too… Of course, all this running around, every single day, leaves me quite exhausted and ready to snuggle with the Man Servant after a long day of play. Now I see why he is always so tired when he gets home from work. Although something tells me his day may have been slightly less fun than mine…
